Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage has welcomed the Conservative Party's campaign to secure a referendum on our EU membership.
The campaign backs Tory MP James Wharton's forthcoming Private Members Bill on this issue and, seeks to build public pressure from across the political spectrum. A new website, www.LetBritainDecide.com, has also been launched to make it easier for people to give their backing to the Bill.
Speaking after the announcement, Caroline said:
"I've long supported calls for the people to have a real say on our relationship with Europe.
I'm delighted that the Conservative Party has shown its commitment to giving Britain a clear vote and I wholeheartedly support this campaign.
With a draft Bill on our EU membership requiring cross-party support to pass, I'd urge people to visit LetBritainDecide.com and pledge their support for this campaign."
Caroline has long been a vocal campaigner for voters to have the right to decide on our what form our future relationship with Europe should take, backing the vote calling for a referendum on our membership of the EU in 2011 and opposed the previous rise in the EU budget in 2010.
