Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage is urging companies to sign up to the Defence Discount Service.
The scheme gives members of the Armed Forces Community discounts both online and on the high street when they show their Defence Privilege Cards at participating stores and restaurants. There are currently around 29,000 cards in circulation and a number of high profile businesses have already signed up. The Defence Discount Service also allows smaller companies to get involved and is encouraging businesses in local areas to offer discounts to the Armed Forces Community.
Expressing her support, Caroline commented:
"As an area which has a strong connection to the military, we know only too well the sacrifices made by our service personnel. This is a very small way to say thank you to our men and women who do, and who have done, so much for us and I hope local businesses will be keen to sign up."
