Local MP, Caroline Dinenage, has been shortlisted by The Climate Coalition for a Green Heart Hero Award in the ‘MP Local Champion’ category.
Caroline was one of hundreds of Members of Parliament nominated by their constituents, but only one of three to make the final shortlist for this award.
Protecting the environment and combating climate change is a personal passion of Caroline’s. She regularly attends local litter-picks and has organised beach clean in partnership with the Marine Conservation Society. She has given up plastic for Lent for the last two years and blogged about the difficulties. Caroline also launched a recycling initiative for paper coffee cups in Gosport alongside local company Huhtamaki in January 2018 – the first of its kind in the UK. The Climate Coalition is made up of more than 140 organisations representing more than 22 million people, ranging from aid agencies such as CAFOD and Christian Aid to groups such as the Women’s Institute, WWF, RSPB, and the National Trust.
The awards ceremony will take place in the Houses of Parliament on Monday 9 March 2020.

Urgent action must be taken on climate change, this issue is more pressing than ever and there are changes we can all make to our lifestyles to limit our impact.
