Local MP Caroline Dinenage celebrated ukactive's National Fitness Day at Coca-Cola GB's ParkLives parliamentary reception this September.
ParkLives is a unique partnership between local authorities and Coca-Cola Great Britain, delivering free physical activity sessions in parks across the country. All the sessions are fun, accessible to all – young, old and families, male and female - and are completely free of charge. ParkLives is running in ten cities across the UK this summer, having recently expanded to Swansea, Stoke, Dundee and Southampton.
Caroline enjoyed participating in a range of informal activities – including boccia – and spoke with ParkLives coaches and instructors working in local communities across the UK to learn more about the scheme.
Commenting on the event, Caroline said:
"I was pleased to attend the ParkLives reception and learn about how this great scheme, which was rolled out in Southampton this summer, is helping people from across the country get fit and active."
