Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage will continue her ongoing campaign for investment in Daedalus Enterprise Zone by making a deputation to Fareham Borough Council this evening.
Caroline will encourage the Council to be part of a package of funding which will be used to ensure that the Enterprise Zone continues on its path to becoming a centre of excellence for advanced manufacturing in the marine, aviation and defence sectors.
Speaking ahead of the deputation, Caroline said:
"Since my election, I have worked tirelessly to ensure that the Daedalus site reaches its potential to provide a vital economic boost to the Gosport & Fareham area. Last year, the Enterprise Zone received a significant investment from the Government and it is essential that funding continues to flow into the project.
I firmly believe that local stakeholders should be involved in this exciting development which is why I am making a deputation to Fareham Borough Council this evening. I hope that they will seize the opportunity to pledge their commitment to the Daedalus Enterprise Zone and invest in the future of our local area."
The funding package will be used to drive forward growth by resurfacing the site's runway, constructing a new hangar and developing an on-site business innovation centre.
