Gosport MP, Caroline Dinenage, has announced that next month she will host a drive for budding local entrepreneurs.
Caroline will host a free webinar to mark this year’s International Women’s Day on Monday 8th March. In partnership with TV’s Alison Cork and Make It Your Business, Caroline will welcome speakers from across our local area and further afield to talk about getting women to start their own business or running for public office.
Caroline, who set up and ran her own business for 20 years before becoming an MP, has always been passionate about expanding opportunities for women and helping them with advice or guidance where needed to take the step into business or public life.
During her decade as MP, Caroline has sat on the Business, Innovation and Skills Select Committee and was appointed one of twelve small business ambassadors by then Prime Minister David Cameron.
Commenting, Caroline said:
“This is such an important issue and a one close to my heart – I’m delighted to be able to be able to mark Gosport’s International Women’s Day with this free event.
“We will be hearing from a range of fascinating speakers who will be there to provide insight and expert knowledge on getting into business and seeing more women in public life. To help us Build Back Better after COVID-19 we need more women to take that step and I am sure our speakers will showcase this to the fullest!”
Alison Cork, who will feature at the event, said:
“Make It Your Business is dedicated to supporting and encouraging women everywhere to start their own business, creating economic growth through female led businesses.
“We are absolutely delighted to be joined by Caroline Dinenage MP for Gosport, a long standing champion of opportunities for women in her constituency.”
