The Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Gosport, Caroline Dinenage kicked off the Football for Cancer Charity Day at Fleetlands on Sunday.
Football for Cancer was formed in 2008 and helps to raise money for local cancer charities by hosting football events throughout the year, each in memory of someone who has passed away or suffered from cancer. The Gosport teams were named after Alistair 'Kiwi' Walker and Ray Martin.
At the event, Caroline was invited to kick off the match which was eventually won by the Alistair Kiwi team.
Caroline commented:
"It was great to deliver the first kick at Gosport's Football for Cancer match on Sunday - this is a fantastic organisation which raises a lot of money for cancer charities as well as families in our area and I was proud to support the local teams."
As Gosport's MP, Caroline supported a number of cancer charities including Breast Cancer Campaign, Macmillan, Brain Tumour Research and Prostate Cancer UK.
