Caroline Dinenage MP for Gosport will don a hard hat to start the initial demolition work on Thursday 24 January 2013 at 1030 to begin the work to transform Fareham Business Park into an exciting new opportunity for South Coast businesses to secure quality commercial premises on competitive and flexible terms.
Caroline said; "Gosport has seen consistent reductions in unemployment (down 6% since December 2011) and I am proud to support projects such as this which will bring further investment, enterprise and jobs to the local area, helping reduce the number of people who have to out-commute along busy roads to get to work"
The site was originally the home of a US based global healthcare company, CBRE who sold the 11.3 acre site to Oceanic Estates in April 2012. Caroline has been invited to start the initial demolition of the redundant office building at the front of the site by John Hughes of Portsmouth based demolition contractor Demolition & Salvage Limited, whose work covers the South of England with other notable projects including the recently demolished St. Mary's Hospital, Portsmouth and emergency works at the Savoy Buildings fire in Southsea.
Matthew Poplett of Jones Lang LaSalle adds: "Oceanic Estates is committed to a proactive approach to marketing the available space, offering the choice of fully refurbished units from 10,000 sq ft up to 120,000 sq ft. Alternatively, it could build a new bespoke facility to suit an occupier's particular specification. Once these initial demolition works are completed, we will be able to offer the rare opportunity of a 2.4 acre site with the benefit of a 160m frontage to the busy A32 main road".
Harry Hutchinson, Director at Oceanic Estates comments: "We saw the potential of this site and our knowledge of the region gave us the comfort to purchase it. We believe that for the right product, there are still companies out there looking to improve their property holdings and we are able to consider a variety of commercial uses. We are already in detailed discussions with a number of interested parties which gives us confidence that occupiers will be on site in the short term".
