Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage has taken the tragic case of missing toddler Katrice Lee straight to the Prime Minister's door, as she helped deliver a petition to 10 Downing Street this afternoon.
On the anniversary of Katrice's thirty-third birthday, Caroline joined the Lee family and friends on a march from St James's Park to Downing Street, before handing in a petition signed by over 1,500 people calling for a review of the investigation in to Katrice's disappearance.
After the march, Caroline said:
"As a parent, I can only imagine the pain and suffering the Lee family have endured for over thirty years. I hope today's event generates a renewed focus on this case and I would urge people with information, no matter how obscure they feel it may be, to come forward."
The march follows coverage in last week's Crimewatch programme and a recent debate in Parliament on the case, where the minister for defence personnel pledged to meet with the family and head of the Royal Military Police to address their concerns.
Caroline has long campaigned on behalf of the Lee family, raising Katrice's disappearance with the Prime Minister at PMQs and meeting with senior defence ministers to shed light on the failings of the original investigation.
