Gosport MP, Caroline Dinenage, is celebrating this Armed Forces Week by encouraging constituents to take part online and #SaluteOurForces on Armed Forces Day.
Armed Forces Week, from the 22nd to 27th June, thanks armed forces personnel for their hard work and dedication to Great Britain. This year, every day has a different theme to so that support is shown for all those in the forces.
Monday is dedicated to the Global Armed Forces, Tuesday to innovation, Wednesday is Reserves Day, Thursday commemorates veterans and Friday cadets. The week culminates with Armed Forces Day where the public are being asked to #SaluteOurForces and share their pictures and videos on social media to pay tribute to personnel.
Virtually, people can take part in the 13 Bridges Challenge and walk 10 miles throughout the week to fundraise for SSAFA – the UK Armed Forces charity. Reservists are also being asked to wear their uniform at home or to ‘work’ on June 24th. There is the very first Armed Forces Week Quiz on June 25th and Scarborough Council are hosting a online celebration on the 27th.
Local MP, Caroline Dinenage, is also asking Gosport, Stubbington, Hill Head and Lee-on-the-Solent residents to share their salute photos on her Facebook page on Friday 27th to spread the word throughout the constituency.

“Our forces personnel – both past and present – are the reason that we have the freedoms that we enjoy today. It is their dedication and incredible bravery that keeps us and our families safe.
“This week is an important opportunity to pay tribute to everyone who has, and continues, to serve our country.”
