Local MP, Caroline Dinenage opened the London Stock Exchange this week on behalf of the 30 percent club.
Caroline was at the Stock Exchange to deliver a speech to finance and asset management companies about about gender diversity, as part of her role as Minister for Women and Equalities. But before that, the Gosport MP was invited to open the London Stock Exchange at the official Market Ceremony.
Caroline's speech was followed by a roundtable discussion on gender diversity with the investor community.
The 30 percent club launched in the UK in 2010 with a goal of achieving a minimum of 30% women on FTSE-100 boards - currently the figure stand at 26% up from 12.5%.
Commenting on the event, Caroline said:
"I was honoured to have been asked to open the London Stock Exchange this week and speak to members of the investor community with the 30 percent club. It was a really important opportunity to address the issue of gender balance in the financial sector, which is so crucial for business success and the future of our economy."
