Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage cut the ribbon for a new Move On house in Gosport on behalf of Alabaré Christian Care & Support, during its official opening last week.
Alabaré is a charity which provides accommodation for ex-Service men and women whilst helping them to develop the necessary skills for living independently. The new four-bedroom home will benefit four residents with low support needs.
Speaking after the opening, Caroline said:
"As a nation, we have a moral obligation to members of the armed forces for the service they have rendered us. Charities such as Alabaré play a really important role in getting veterans back on their feet.
I am delighted that the charity has invested in a second Move On house in Gosport. With its help and support, ex-Service personnel in our local area will be able to make a seamless transition back into civilian life."
Alabaré's Homes for Veterans can now be found in 5 areas, and consist of 12 homes. It has supported more than 210 veterans since its first house opened in Plymouth, in 2009.
