Local MP Caroline Dinenage will welcome Norman Baker MP, minister for regional and local transport, as he visits the Gosport peninsula tomorrow.
Since becoming an MP, Caroline has championed the case for greater investment in the local transport system and will use Wednesday's visit to show the minister first-hand the problems that motorists have to endure on a daily basis, before chairing a meeting with council officials.
Speaking ahead of the visit, Caroline said:
"The transport infrastructure is such a major issue in our area and I've worked hard ever since my election to raise this with my ministerial colleagues.
I'm really grateful that the minister has found time in his busy schedule to visit Gosport, I'm looking forward to taking him on a tour of the area and for once I'm hoping for a traffic jam!
It will be really useful for the minister to see the transport problems up close, along with potential solutions for when we come to discuss them in our meeting."
Caroline is dedicated to tackling the problem of congestion on the A32 and other access roads and Wednesday's meeting builds upon the £8.5million package to enhance Newgate Lane that she recently helped secure.
