Local MP Caroline Dinenage will visit Hornet Sailing Club in Haslar Creek this weekend, as she continues her work promoting the peninsula's world-class sailing and yachting facilities.
As the centre of offshore sailing for the Armed Forces community, the Hornet Club has a key role to play in raising Gosport's profile in the sailing world. Saturday's visit will see Caroline take in a tour of the Club, before addressing members at an open meeting.
Speaking ahead of her visit, Caroline said:
"With over 20 miles of stunning waterfront, three marinas and breathtaking views, Gosport peninsular has all the ingredients necessary to make it the south coast's premier marine and sailing destination.
I look forward to visiting the thriving Hornet Sailing Club and sharing my vision for our area with the members."
The visit follows the formation of Caroline's "Sailing Scene" group, which regularly brings together representatives from the area's top marine organisations - all united in their goal to strengthen the Gosport Marine Sector.
