Local MP Caroline Dinenage has welcomed news that Gosport aviation firm, Vector Aerospace is set to receive a £2 million investment from the Government.
Today's announcement confirms that Vector Aerospace's bid for funding from the Regional Growth Fund will be taken forward. Subject to due diligence, this will enable the local company to enhance the design and aviation services capability at its Fleetlands site in Gosport. Caroline will hear the Minister's good news as she joins him on his visit to Vector Aerospace this afternoon.
Caroline commented:
"This is really fantastic news for Vector Aerospace and the Gosport area more widely. The company already provides critical support for military aircraft and this investment will help it to diversify its customer base and take on more skilled workers at its Gosport site.
Today's announcement is a terrific boost for our local economy and shows that the Government is committed to supporting our area reach its full potential."
Since becoming elected, Caroline has remained committed to boosting economic growth in the Gosport area. She was instrumental in securing Enterprise Zone status for the former disused airfield at Daedalus and has been part of a number of successful Regional Growth Fund bids across the area including the 'Bridging the Gap' fund for small and medium businesses.
