The National Lottery Community Fund is the Largest funder of community activity in the UK, providing funds for thousands of organisations.
The fund raises money for community projects, putting people in the lead to improve lives and communities. Funding can be awarded for small grants of between £300 and £10,000, or long-term funding over 5 years and partnerships of over £10,000.
The Gosport Constituency has been awarded over £950,000 for 35 projects over the last 6 years across the community. Projects such as Gosport Voluntary Action (GVA) and the Rowner Family Centre have been awarded funds of £10,000 or more, allowing them to have a greater impact in supporting the community.
Commenting on the community fund, Caroline said:
“It is fantastic news to hear that funds of such a large scale are being distributed among local community projects.
“This will be greatly appreciated by the recipients, I’m sure, and by the people who benefit from the vital role that community projects play within Gosport.
“Funding can be applied for through the national lottery and I would encourage anyone who is running a community project to apply, with the chance of receiving some of the £353.2 million distributed in England last year.”
