Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage has welcomed the introduction of the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Bill which was announced in the Queen's Speech yesterday morning.
As Small Business Ambassador for the South, Caroline was part of a team of MPs who travelled around the country hearing from business owners and representatives about how policy changes could help their businesses to flourish. Caroline has attended a number of events across the South in the past year and regularly fed back her findings to key policymakers.
The Small Business Bill includes a package of measures designed to create a fairer marketplace and improve the general operating environment for small businesses. It will tackle issues around prompt payment, access to finance, employment law and procurement as well as large pub companies controlling rent increases and beer prices for smaller public establishments.
Speaking in support of the Bill, Caroline said:
'This is a significant piece of legislation which comes as great news for small businesses owners across the UK and really shows that this Government is committed to breaking down the barriers which prevent small enterprises from growing.
I am proud to have played a part in informing the contents of this Bill and am pleased that it has been driven by the opinions of those who have real business experience."
Having run a business since the age of 19, Caroline is passionate about supporting small business owners. She is an active member of the Business, Skills and Innovation Select Committee and was appointed Small Business Ambassador for the South by the Prime Minister last year.
