Today, Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage is promoting Gosport apprentices working in the childcare sector.
17 year old apprentice nursery nurse, Allana Meredith, explains how her apprenticeship provides rewarding opportunities to learn about the different stages of child development and how she can help build their confidence to achieve milestones.
Nursery apprentice Chloe White, 20, sees her apprenticeship as a win-win – because she gets to do what she loves while learning, progressing and earning at the same time.
Paige Hillier, 19, is a level 3 childcare apprentice, working with children aged 2-5. She points out how importantly, apprenticeships enable her to learn skills in a work based setting. She states – "there's a lot you can't learn from books...seeing how everything is implemented in a real life situation is so useful."
Commenting, Caroline said:
"It is truly inspiring that Allana, Chloe and Paige have started a career based upon their love of working with children and are pursuing apprenticeships to achieve their ambitions. It is so great to hear how passionate they are about their jobs and their eagerness to learn the skills they need to progress."
