Caroline Dinenage MP met Founder of Hounds for Heroes, Allen Parton, and his two assistance dogs, Rookie and EJ, this week in Parliament.
Allen set up Hounds for Heroes after he met special dog Endal while recovering from the serious injuries he received when serving in the Royal Navy. With Ednal he noticed a significant improvement in his recovery time and journey back to health, which inspired him to start the charity.
The charity, based in Petersfield, now provides fully funded assistance dogs nationwide to veterans and emergency service workers where the dogs help those in need readapt to civilian life and recover both mentally and physically.
Caroline commented:
“It was my honour to meet Allen with Rookie and EJ. These super-bright assistance dogs understand hundreds of commands and can literally change lives. It is a fantastic charity that helps those who have dedicated their lives to our country recover and readapt, with a little help from man’s best friend.”
