Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage has strongly welcomed the news that Hampshire County Council have decided to take action and resurface Elson road.
Local residents have long complained about the noise and damage caused by the uneven surface and steep camber. Over the course of the last year Caroline's has brought numerous decision makers on visits to the road and had a long exchange of correspondence and meetings with Hampshire County Council, the Police and First Bus to try and minimise these issues.
Commenting on the news Caroline said:
"My team have worked hard over many months with the relevant decision makers to try and improve this situation for the local Elson community.
I'm so pleased that Elson Road residents' concerns have now been heard and that we have finally managed to make progress in resolving this issue."
The roadworks began today and are due to be finished by Tuesday 9 August.
