A constituent recently raised with me the issue of refuse collections taking place along Newgate Lane South at around 7:30am causing more problems during rush hour.
I raised this issue with Cllr Sean Woodward, who has now advised me that in the long-term, Fareham Borough Council will be making fundamental changes to the scheduling of this round however it will require considerable planning and communications with residents to change their bin collection rota's and therefore will not be a quick fix.
However, in the interim, the early collections will be shared between crew which should enable the refuse collectors to be clear of Newgate Lane South by 7am at the latest. Fareham Borough Council are looking to implement this in the next week or so and will then carry out an internal review into whether or not this is helping to ease the situation.
