Local MP Caroline Dinenage is delighted to announce that a group of film-makers from Crofton School have come out on top in the 'Film the House' competition, at an Award Ceremony in the Houses of Parliament last week.
Samantha Harvey, Lotte and Becky Johnson were victorious in the under 18's category with their film 'Beyond a Dream'. The girls' entry was put forward by Caroline as the best submission from her constituency and then picked out as a winner by a panel of industry experts.
Speaking after their win, Caroline said:
"I'm absolutely delighted for the girls from Crofton School, having seen off competition from a packed field to make it to the final was a great achievement in itself, but then to go on and win their category outright is a fantastic result."
The 'Film the House' competition was designed to promote the wealth and variety of film in the UK, the girls' hard work and dedication certainly paid off as they were awarded a host of prizes including hardware, film screenings for their friends and family, cinema tickets and DVD packages.
