HMRC held an emergency drop-in session yesterday for MPs whose constituents are facing difficulties receiving their child tax credits due to Concentrix at which we raised the cases of all constituents who have approached me. HMRC will contact these constituents within 48 hours.
HMRC has decided not to extend its contract with Concentrix. HMRC's Chief Executive, Jon Thompson, has said: "We want to reassure customers who have had their tax credits stopped that we will prioritise their cases, and make sure that they are processed as quickly as possible. While it's right that we ensure that tax credits customers receive only the money to which they're entitled, it is vital that those customers have a high level of service."
On Wed 14 September, the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, Jane Ellison MP, responded to an Urgent Question on the Concentrix issue in the House of Commons. You can read the full transcript here.
