“I am passionate about ensuring that Gosport constituents have access to the best local healthcare services” Caroline Dinenage
Gosport MP, Caroline Dinenage, is hosting a Public Health Forum event to enable members of the public to learn more about what steps are being taken to improve local healthcare provision and give them the opportunity to raise their views and ask questions.
This free event takes place at Thorngate Halls in Gosport from 1.00 pm to 3.30pm on Friday 17 May. Representatives from; The Willow Group, Better Local Healthcare, the Fareham & Gosport Clinical Commissioning Group, Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, NHS England Dentistry and South Central Ambulance Service, will be at the forum.
The event will include updates from each of the organisations, followed by a Q&A session where constituents can raise any concerns, comments or queries.
Speaking ahead of the event, Caroline said:
“Constituents regularly contact me regarding a whole range of local healthcare issues so I came up with the idea of a big, one stop shop event where constituents can raise their thoughts directly with the relevant organisations.
It’s a huge achievement to get representatives from all these different health bodies in one place at the same time. This will be a unique opportunity for my constituents to hear the latest updates and air their views on everything from dentistry to emergency care and ambulances to smoking cessation services. ”
Mark Cubbon, Chief Executive of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust said:
"This forum provides a fantastic opportunity for us to come together with our local community and hear about what really matters to them.
As a group of local health and social care services it is so important that we listen to our community’s experiences, take on board their views and respond to their feedback. It promises to be an interesting discussion and I look forward to taking part.”
Dr David Chilvers, Clinical Chair of Fareham and Gosport Clinical Commissioning Group said:
“The NHS in our area is seeing real change at the moment – the way GP surgeries work together, trying to make it easier for people to access ‘same day’ care and advice, making more services available close to people’s homes. We think these changes will help patients who need support, and the NHS services which have to find new ways of meeting rising demands.
However, we appreciate that such changes can be confusing for people, so the Health Forum is a great opportunity for us to meet local residents to discuss the things we are doing, and hear feedback from them about the services they use and rely on”.
