Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage is urging her constituents to get involved with Big Energy Week, an initiative which will help them to cut hundreds of pounds from their energy bills.
The campaign, which runs from 27th to 31st January gives practical advice on how to save money by checking, switching and insulating their homes. Citizens Advice Bureaux are running over 500 events to help consumers get advice on how to cut their bills.
By following the advice, consumers could save up to £200 by switching supplier and an average of £100 by paying direct debit instead of by cash or cheque.
Speaking in support of the initiative, Caroline said:
"The cost of energy is a big worry for many people at the moment. That is why I am proud to support Big Energy Week which gives consumers an opportunity to take decisive action and significantly reduce the energy bills.
I would encourage everyone who is concerned about energy costs to make the most of the extra help available ensure that they aren't paying more than they need to."
Since her election, Caroline has frequently raised the matter of high energy costs with her Ministerial colleagues and has supported a number of campaigns aiming to tackle the problem.
