Local MP Caroline Dinenage has welcomed recent figures showing a 9% fall in crime in Gosport over the last 12 months – 3% more than the national average.
The 9% drop amounts to around 600 fewer victims of crime in the last year and forms part of a wider trend that can be seen right across Hampshire, with Gosport showing among the most consistent drops in crime rates across the county in the last 5 years.
Caroline said:
"These figures are very impressive and are a reflection of the hard work, commitment and dedication of the police, both locally in Gosport and across Hampshire. I would like to congratulate and thank all the officers who do such a remarkable job in what are often difficult and dangerous circumstances."
These excellent figures rounded off a successful 12 months with Stubbington's very own PC Alex Stypulkowski recognised as our country's bravest police officer at an award ceremony in London last week.
