Local MP Caroline Dinenage is urging people to utilise a free service offering help and advice on reducing energy bills, with over 5,000 households in the Gosport area entitled to this support.
The Home Heat Helpline (0800 33 66 99) provides people with energy saving measures worth an average of £160 per household, and support available includes free grants for insulation, new boilers and money off bills.
Speaking about the importance of this issue Caroline said:
"Unfortunately, many people don't realise this service is available to them. Anyone who is concerned about staying warm this winter should call the Home Heat Helpline and seek advice. I would also encourage people to look out for elderly neighbours, friends or relatives to make sure they are safe this winter."
