Local MP Caroline Dinenage has predicted a bright future for one of Gosport's schools as a new head takes over this term.
She met with Richard Kelly, who took over from Chris Anders as headteacher of Brune Park Community School, at the start of the new term. He's moved to the local school after a successful period as headteacher of Quilley School of Engineering in Eastleigh.
Caroline has welcomed the appointment, noting that the emphasis on engineering and skill would boost young people's employment opportunities.
She said:
"I was delighted to meet with Richard at the start of this new term, to help to build a good relationship with this key local figure from the outset.
Brune Park has developed and strengthened over the past year, and I look forward even greater successes under his leadership. With his understanding of the importance of engineering, we're set to see a bright future for the students of Brune Park."
