Local MP Caroline Dinenage will try her hand at pulling pints in a Gosport pub tomorrow evening.
The local MP will join the landlord, bar staff and regulars at the Village Home in Gosport to work a shift behind the bar from 5.30-7.30pm this Friday. As well as serving drinks and chatting to customers, she'll be there to show her support for local pubs and learn more about the issues facing the sector.
Speaking before the shift, Caroline said:
"I'm hugely looking forward to meeting the staff and regulars at this great Gosport local during my stint behind the bar, even if the drinks I make don't meet the usual standards! It'll be a great chance not only to visit this wonderful local pub, but to fly the flag for all the fantastic British pubs that lie at the heart of our local communities".
The visit, which was organised with the help of pub franchisor Enterprise Inns, is part of wider moves to support local pubs and prevent closures.
