For World Book Day (March 4th) Gosport MP, Caroline Dinenage, is encouraging constituents to join her and share their favourite books and stories.
Caroline has taken to social media to talk about some of her favourite stories and the benefits of reading, even if it’s just 10 minutes a day. Reading can not only improve literacy and vocabulary, but also can help with mental health issues by reducing stress and improving sleep.
Through World Book Day, over 15 million £1 National Book Tokens are available in partnership with schools across the UK and Ireland. These tokens can be taken to local booksellers to get one of the twelve exclusive, brand new World Book Day books or get £1 off any full price book.
In addition, this year a #ShowYourShares campaign is being run which gives constituents, libraries and schools the chance to win a £100 National Book Token. Weekly competitions are being run for residents to get involved in until the 21st March.
Caroline commented:
“I love taking part in World Book Day to share my favourite stories and encourage residents across the Gosport Constituency to join in. Whether its bedtime stories or a short chapter on a Sunday, reading is a great opportunity to take some time out, explore different times and places, and relax - at a time when we all need it most.”
