Gosport MP and former Minister of State for Care, Caroline Dinenage, is joining Carers UK to help make carers visible and valued this Carers Week (7th -13th June).
During her time as Minister of State for Care, and as a constituency MP, Caroline has met carers from across the country and constituency, as well as charities such as Care UK, to understand some of the key challenges that face the 6.5 million unpaid carers living in the UK. Her work included publishing the Government’s first ever Carer’s Action Plan.
Last year, Caroline joined Carers UK’s wall of voices to Make Caring Visible – adding her name and pledging her support.
She commented:
“Often behind closed doors, unpaid carers support loved ones unacknowledged. But carers transform people’s lives and provide indispensable compassionate care for those who need it.
“I have been proud to support Care UK and Carers Week over the years, highlighting just how valuable carers are in our community and to #MakeCarersVisible.”
