Local MP, Caroline Dinenage, has today continued the visits to her Community Business Champions across the Gosport Constituency.
The nominations campaign, which ran for only a few weeks, generated around 100 nominations for businesses and organisations across Gosport, Stubbington, Hill Head and Lee on the Solent, who have gone above and beyond for residents since the start of the pandemic.
Caroline has today visited several business across Gosport, including Giddy Goat Yarns and P&Js, to thank them for their dedication and support.
Giddy Goat owner Nikki received many nominations and was rightly praised for helping people get through lockdown by supplying the local knitting community with everything they needed over the tough months – including a delivery service at her own expense. In her spare time too, Nikki spent her lockdown supplying yarn and support to Scarves for Falkland's Veterans as well as taking donations to the Falkland Veterans Foundation.
Similarly, P&Js received lots of nominations for owners Paul and Jess and their happy, cheerful team. After opening in difficult circumstances in the middle of the pandemic, they have been praised for being so generous and giving. They have been described as a community inspired business and, as one nominator said, they ‘put a smile on everyone’s face who shops there’.
