Miller Homes and Bargate Homes have submitted a planning application to Fareham Borough Council for 375 homes with access from Newgate Lane East.
Local MP, Caroline Dinenage, is concerned that this development would place too much pressure on local infrastructure and also threatens the strategic gap between Gosport & Fareham. This will place increased strain on the area's already strained medical services, schools and transport links.
Caroline has consistently opposed a number of previous developments which threaten the strategic gap via objections to Fareham Borough Council, the Planning Inspectorate and asking the Secretary of State to ‘call in’ planning applications.
Caroline said:
“I know that in a recent consultation 96% of local residents objected to this development.
I have written to Fareham Borough Council outlining my objections to these plans.
