Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage has praised the Gosport Summer Passport Scheme after attending a session last week.
The Gosport Summer Passport scheme is a well-established initiative organised by Gosport Community Safety Partnership which began in 2008. The scheme provides open access diversionary activities for young people of secondary school age attending schools in either Gosport or Fareham, or living in Gosport and Fareham.
The scheme, which Caroline has visited each year, ran for three weeks across the Summer Holidays at various locations across Gosport and Lee on the Solent with a variety of activities such as Pizza making, Brick laying, UV Face Painting, off-road biking and many more.
After her visit Caroline said:
"I was delighted to see so many young people taking advantage of Gosport Summer Passport Scheme once again this year. It provides some really unique experiences for young people and encourages them to get out of the house during the school break, try different hobbies and meet new people.
It is fantastic that Gosport Borough Council and their partners provide a range of free activities to reduce potential anti-social behaviour during these long holidays that can result through lack of things to do."
