Local MP Caroline Dinenage hosted a meeting today between National Grid, local Resident Associations and local Councillors regarding the IFA2 proposals.
The meeting was a chance to discuss concerns about the proposal to locate the Interconnector at Daedalus.
The meeting, which lasted 2 hours and included representatives from Lee on the Solent, Stubbington, Hill Head and Peel Common, discussed concerns including ....
- Alternative locations for the project
- The safety of the site and potential for electro-magnetic and/or noise emissions
- The visual impact
- The potential impact on aircraft & airfield users.
National Grid brought a team of 8 people, with specialities in everything from noise to engineering, as well as a representative from their Isle of Grain Interconnector site, in order to be able to answer questions as fully as possible.
