Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage has welcomed a campaign to promote an understanding of new psychoactive substances (NPS), launched yesterday by the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight's Youth Commission.
Part of the problem surrounding NPS, also known as legal highs is the lack of information surrounding them, both in terms of advice and usage. This campaign is aimed at finding out what people know about legal highs and gaining an understanding of how many people are using them. The Youth Commission has therefore created a survey for local people to complete.
Commenting on the campaign, Caroline said:
"Legal highs should be re-named lethal highs; the prolific use of them, particularly amongst young people in our area is a grave cause for concern. For that reason it is absolutely right that the Youth Commission should be conducting research into the usage of these substances locally in order to gain a more informed idea of the action that needs to be taken.
The bigger the dataset the better so please do take a minute to complete this survey."
