Today (10 September), the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) published data stating that Caroline was one of 26 MPs to have an outstanding balance of £13.50 owed to the organisation. Since then, IPSA has confirmed that this was an administration error made on their part and that Caroline does not have any outstanding expenses to be paid. This is set out in the email from IPSA below.
Speaking about the mistake, Caroline said:
"Until today, I was unaware of the outstanding balance of £13.50. I am extremely upset that this inaccurate information has been published and that IPSA's mistake led to my name being incorrectly included on this list. I do appreciate the concerns of local people about this story and am pleased that the situation has now been clarified."
