To capitalise on our fantastic coastal location, I came up with the idea of bringing together our local maritime companies to promote Gosport as a world class marine & sailing hub. After an initial meeting to bounce some ideas around, the Gosport Marine Scene was formed.

Back in 2012, I helped set up the Gosport Town Team and secure £110,000 of Government funding to improve Gosport High Street. This came as a result of Mary Portas' review of high streets across the UK.

Back in 2013, the Prime Minister appointed me as his Small Business Ambassador for the South. As part of this role I travelled around our region meeting business owners and feeding back to the Government about the niggly pieces of legislation that prevent small businesses from flourishing.
